Job summary

CGS seeks an experienced Desktop/Workstation Design Engineer in Chantilly, VA to participate in architecture discussions, system reviews, design planning, and technology roadmap planning for desktop integration efforts.

The role involves leading OS image development, large-scale deployments with MECM/MDT, patch management, and security compliance, with cross-team collaboration for enterprise endpoints. Strong scripting and Windows OS engineering skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience upgrading desktops from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
• Experience with OS image creation and deployment using MECM/MDT.
• Ability to integrate 3rd party apps into images.
• Knowledge of security controls on images.
• Experience with vulnerability remediation and patch management.
• Strong writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for OS images development and deployment.
• Engineer large-scale software deployment using MECM/MDT.
• Develop and test software distribution packages.
• Provide recommendations to meet user software needs.
• Analyze hardware for desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers.
• Support OS patching infrastructure and security updates.
• Assist with security tasks and auditing as required.
