Job summary

CGS seeks an experienced Desktop/Workstation Design Engineer in Arlington, WA to participate in architecture discussions, system reviews, and technology roadmap planning for desktop integration efforts.

The role covers OS image development, large-scale software deployment with MECM/MDT, and patching/security across desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers. Strong scripting and Windows OS engineering skills are required. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Experience upgrading desktops and laptops to Windows 10; familiarity with Ipro/Concordance software.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
Windows OS engineering experience.
Security controls on OS images.
Microsoft Office engineering experience.
Integrating antivirus in an image.
VPN/Remote access knowledge (Cisco Secure Access, RSA a plus).
Windows scripting experience.
Strong writing skills.

Responsibilities

Acts as SME for developing and implementing desktop OS images.
Develops tests and implements software distribution packages for desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers.
Provides information and recommendations to meet user-based software requirements.
Implements server OS deployment methodologies including automated server builds.
Provides support for OS patching infrastructure (e.g., HCL BigFix, Windows Update/MECM).
Analyzes and recommends desktop, laptop, tablet, and server hardware.
Performs security-related tasks including vulnerability review, patch management, and auditing.
