Job summary
Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for its Hospice-focused Technology Platform. You will lead SQL Server modernization on EC2, migrate to AWS RDS, and upskill the Hospice DBA team in cloud database operations, monitoring, and compliance.
The role emphasizes optimizing costs, ensuring HITRUST/HIPAA controls, and collaborating with DevOps on infrastructure automation using Terraform.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in database administration.
- Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, HA/DR.
- Hands-on upgrades and end-of-support migrations from SQL Server 2016.
- SSIS development, maintenance, and SSRS reporting.
- Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) and Multi-AZ.
- Experience with AWS native ETL tools (DMS, Glue) and modernization plans.
- Backup/restore, PITR, cross-region replication know-how.
- Regulated environments (HIPAA/HITRUST/SOC2) experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS.
- Migrate SSIS/SSRS to AWS-native ETL and reporting, or upgrade on EC2.
- Drive cost optimization of databases and licensing.
- Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations.
- Establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
- Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery with AWS Backup.
- Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS infrastructure.
- Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance for all database systems.
