Job summary

Fuze Health is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for the Hospice business unit to lead the SQL Server modernization on AWS. The role will drive migrations to AWS RDS, upgrade legacy servers, and optimize ETL/SSRS reporting.

You will mentor the Hospice SQL DBA team and establish cloud-native monitoring and backup strategies. The role emphasizes HIPAA/HITRUST compliance, cross-region DR planning, and collaboration with DevOps to automate infrastructure with Terraform for RDS.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in database administration.
Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, HA, DR.
SSIS and SSRS: building, migrating, and administering ETL/reports.
Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) and migration strategies (DMS/Glue).
Backup/restore strategies, point-in-time recovery, cross-region replication.

Responsibilities

Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS or in-place upgrades.
Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reports; evaluate AWS-native ETL/reporting options.
Drive database cost optimization and licensing cost reductions.
Upskill and mentor Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS DB ops and best practices.
Establish cloud-native monitoring using Datadog and CloudWatch; implement backup/DR using AWS Backup.
Perform query optimization, index management, and capacity planning.
Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS and automation.
Ensure HITRUST/HIPAA compliance across database systems.
