Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for its Hospice-focused platform. You will drive SQL Server modernization on EC2, migrate to AWS RDS, and modernize SSIS/SSRS ETL and reporting while guiding the Hospice DBA team.

You will ensure HIPAA/HITRUST compliance, optimize costs, and implement cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch, partnering with DevOps on Terraform for infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server version upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
• Strong hands-on experience with SSIS and SSRS.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring, Multi-AZ.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL and data migration tooling (DMS, Glue).
• Experience with database migration projects (on-premises or EC2 to RDS).
• Backup/restore strategies, point-in-time recovery, cross-region replication.
• Monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, SQL Server DMVs).
• Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2).

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS.
• Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL packages and SSRS reports; re-platform to AWS-native ETL/reporting or upgrade on SQL Server on EC2.
• Drive database cost optimization and right-size resources.
• Upskill the Hospice DBA team on AWS database operations and best practices.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring and alerting using Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes with AWS Backup.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS infrastructure.
• Ensure HITRUST/HIPAA compliance across database systems.
