Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Data Security Engineer to implement and operate security controls across the enterprise data estate, including platforms like Microsoft Fabric and Databricks. This 100% remote role reports to the Deputy CISO and requires strong expertise in encryption, access controls, and secure data pipelines.

You will collaborate with Security Operations, Data & Analytics, Governance, and IT teams to automate deployments, enforce masking and tokenization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information security or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in information security, cloud engineering, data engineering.
• 2+ years focused on data protection or database security.

Responsibilities

• Implement data protection controls across the enterprise data estate.
• Configure and operate encryption controls for data at rest and in transit.
• Enforce least-privilege access models and quarterly entitlement reviews.
• Hardens security configurations for Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure SQL, SQL Server.
• Automate security deployments and integrate telemetry with Security Operations.
