Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Data Security Engineer to implement and enhance data protection controls across the enterprise data estate, including analytics platforms and relational databases. The role focuses on encryption, access control, data masking, and secure data pipelines.

You will collaborate with Security Operations, Data & Analytics, and IT teams, reporting to the Deputy CISO. 100% remote work from approved states with a strong emphasis on automation and compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related discipline.
Proficiency with SQL and database security configurations.
Experience with cloud data platforms and automation tooling.

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain data security controls across enterprise data estate.
Configure encryption controls for data at rest and in transit; manage keys and vaults.
Enforce least-privilege access models and conduct entitlement reviews.
Automate security control deployment and integrate telemetry with security operations.
