Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Data Security Engineer to protect enterprise data across analytics platforms, databases, and pipelines. This remote role supports teams across approved US states and reports to the Deputy CISO.

You'll implement encryption, access controls, data masking, and secure CI/CD integration, collaborating with Security Ops, Data & Analytics, and IT teams while advancing a privacy‑by‑design culture.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in information security or related fields.
• 2+ years focused on data protection or database security.
• Ability to implement encryption, access control, and data masking.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data protection controls across the enterprise data estate.
• Configure encryption for data at rest and in transit and manage keys/secrets.
• Enforce least-privilege access across data platforms and conduct entitlement reviews.
• Automate control deployment and integrate security telemetry with operations.
