Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a remote Data Security Engineer to implement, operate, and improve security controls across the enterprise data estate, including analytics platforms and relational databases. This hands-on role focuses on encryption, access control, data masking, and secure data pipelines.

You will work with cross-functional teams, apply IaC and platform APIs to automate security, and report to the Deputy CISO. The position is 100% remote from approved US states.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree required; 7+ years of information security, cloud engineering, data engineering or related field; 2+ years focused on data protection or database security.

Mansioni

• Implement data protection controls across the enterprise data estate, including classification, masking, and de-identification.
• Operate encryption controls for data at rest and in transit; manage CMKs and key rotation.
• Implement least-privilege access models; conduct entitlement reviews and automate remediation workflows.
• Harden security configurations for Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure SQL, SQL Server and data lakes.
• Secure data ingestion, transformation, and pipelines; protect service identities and CI/CD pipelines.
• Protect non-production environments via synthetic data and masking standards.
• Automate control deployment and compliance validation using scripting and IaC; integrate telemetry with Security Operations.
• Document runbooks, configuration standards, and support secure design reviews.
• Attendance and reliability essential.
