Job summary

Affirm is redefining credit with a remote-first data platform team building scalable data infrastructure spanning checkout databases, batch orchestration, streaming, and analytics tools. This role focuses on the platform and applications layer, delivering reliable data services and self-service capabilities to empower affirmers at scale.

You will contribute to governance, RBAC, and secure data access while enhancing observability and incident response.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a cloud analytical data platform (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery) including governance and cost optimization.
• Experience with containerized apps, Docker image management, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement platform features for data applications at scale (provisioning, deployment pipelines, access control, service lifecycle).
• Build and maintain integrations between platform and internal systems (CI/CD, secrets management, external APIs).
• Design secure data access patterns (RBAC, dynamic masking, secure views, cross-db grants).
• Identify toil and automate self-service for provisioning, failures, and health management.
• Improve observability, telemetry, alerting, and runbooks to reduce blast radius.
