Job summary

Affirm is seeking a data platform engineer to build and operate core platform capabilities for data applications at scale. You will work on provisioning, deployment pipelines, access control, and reliability tooling to empower engineers across Affirm.

The role emphasizes governance, security, and self-service in a remote-first environment. You will contribute to semantic layer infrastructure, AI-ready tooling, and platform reliability, while participating in on-call coverage and incident

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a cloud analytical data platform with governance.
• Strong containerized app operation and deployment automation experience.
• Experience building internal platforms and self-service infrastructure.
• Ability to design secure, scalable data access patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement platform features for data apps at scale.
• Build and maintain integrations with internal systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strengthen data access governance with RBAC and secure views.
• Automate toil and enable self-service for platform users.
• Improve observability, runbooks, and incident response for platform services.
