Job summary

Affimr is a remote-first company, delivering data infrastructure that supports reliable money movement and analytics at scale. The Data and Storage Services and Lakehouse Infra teams drive OLTP/OLAP data platforms, with emphasis on reliability, cost-efficiency, and self-serve data access for ML, Product, and Financial Engineering teams.

You will own quarterly team goals, collaborate across product, design, and analytics, and lead efforts to improve reliability, performance, and ownership

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
• Track record of developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes.
• Experience scaling technologies such as Iceberg, Flink, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake and Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team and lead engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics in lifecycle from ideation to decisions balancing risks.
• Identify and solve project, process or technology issues and advocate for improvements.
• Maintain operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, supporting on-call efforts.
• Set and improve code review and design standards and advocate them beyond your team.
• Develop talent by giving feedback and guiding others.
