Job summary

Affimr is seeking a backend-focused engineer to own the design, development and delivery of scalable data infrastructure. You will work with product, design and analytics to ideate, constrain, and deliver high-impact features.

The role emphasizes reliability, ownership, and continuous improvement, with strong emphasis on keeping systems robust and maintainable. You will contribute to an environment that values code quality, secure architectures and proactive sharing of knowledge through writing

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience building highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience scaling Iceberg, Flink, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, and Terraform.
• Ability to define a technical plan for delivery with simple, extensible design.
• Ability to make significant changes safely in large code bases.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team and guide engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics in the lifecycle of features.
• Proactively identify issues and lead solutions.
• Support operations and on-call efforts to keep artifacts available.
