Affimr is seeking a senior backend engineer to own quarterly goals, lead engineers through ambiguity, and deliver scalable data and backend systems. You will align with product, design, and analytics to deliver robust features while ensuring reliability and cost efficiency.

You have 4+ years building highly available systems with Python/Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes, and you can scale Iceberg, Flink, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, and Terraform.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with highly available distributed systems (AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes).
• Experience scaling Iceberg, Flink, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, Terraform.
• Ability to define a technical plan for large features with clear design.
• Strong coding standards and safe large-scale changes.

Responsabilités

• Own quarterly goals for the team and lead engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics across the lifecycle.
• Identify and drive resolution of project, process, or tech issues.
• Maintain and monitor team artifacts; support on-call duties.
• Promote code quality and design standards across the team.
• Mentor team members and lead by example.
