Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for our Data & Performance Enablement team. You will design and implement platforms that manage distributed event streaming technologies and own features for database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with customer teams, and influence the technical roadmap while ensuring high performance and reliability of data systems.

Qualifications

• 5 years of applicable engineering experience.
• Experience with Kafka/Redis messaging systems.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience.
• Proficient in scripting with Bash or Python.
• Solid cloud experience with Azure or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain key data platform components (provisioning, backups, user management).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and reliability issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration and performance tuning.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
