Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for the Data & Performance Enablement team. You will design and implement platforms for distributed event streaming, own features for database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms, and mentor engineers while shaping the technical roadmap.

You'll work on provisioning automation, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with customer teams to enable high-performance, data-intensive applications.

Qualifications

• 5 years of applicable experience.
• Experience with messaging platforms (Kafka/Redis).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Solid experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain key components of our data platform automation for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and reliability issues in our data systems.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support the team's critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration, query optimization, and DBRE principles.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies and proposing innovative solutions.
