Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for the Data & Performance Enablement team. You will design and implement platforms for distributed event streaming, database, messaging, and data warehouse workloads, mentoring teams and shaping the technical roadmap.

You will lead automation components, troubleshoot complex issues, and propose scalable data solutions while collaborating with partner teams to deliver high-performance data-intensive applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience with Kafka and Redis messaging platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Scripting ability in Bash or Python.
• Experience with major cloud providers (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain key components of our data platform automation for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and reliability issues in our data systems.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support the team's critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration, query optimization, and DBRE principles.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies.
