Job summary

CVS Health Corporation in the United States is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for our Data & Performance Enablement team to design and implement platforms that manage distributed event streaming technologies. You will own the development of key features for database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms, enabling engineers to build high‑performance, data‑driven applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable experience.
• Strong experience with messaging platforms (Kafka/Redis).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Solid experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data platform components for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and reliability issues in data systems; escalation point for the team.
• Identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration, query optimization, and DBRE principles.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies and proposing solutions.
