Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer on the Data & Performance Enablement team to design and implement platforms that manage distributed event streaming, databases, messaging, and data warehousing components across our ecosystem.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with customer teams, and contribute to the technical roadmap while addressing performance, reliability, and security challenges to deliver scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable experience in platform engineering or similar roles.
• Experience with Kafka/Redis messaging platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficient in Bash or Python scripting.
• Experience with cloud providers (Azure or AWS) and managed services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core components of the data platform and automation for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance and reliability issues in data systems; operate as escalation point.
• Identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on DBRE concepts and query optimization.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies.
