Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and implement the platforms that manage distributed event streaming technologies within our Data & Performance Enablement team. You will own core features for database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms, enabling high‑performance data apps.

You will mentor engineers, engage with customer teams, and help shape the technical roadmap while participating in on‑call rotations and delivering scalable, secure data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience with messaging platforms (Kafka/Redis).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (Bash or Python).
• Solid experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain key components of our data platform automation for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and reliability issues in our data systems.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to support the team's critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration, query optimization, and DBRE principles.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies and proposing innovative solutions.
