Job summary

Salesforce is hiring a Software Engineer at an MTS or SMTS level to join the IT Employee Success and Finance Platform, Data and Innovations team in New York. You will contribute to design and implementation of platform components, mentor engineers, and influence architecture.

The role focuses on building telemetry, observability, data pipelines, and enterprise data integration across Workday, Salesforce, and other systems, with cloud-based infrastructure and open-source technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go and production software development experience.
• Experience with observability, telemetry, data pipelines, or data platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate telemetry, observability, logging, and alerting systems with real-time visibility into health, reliability, and performance.
• Advance observability beyond dashboards toward proactive issue detection and root-cause analysis, including AI-assisted insights.
• Build and evolve data pipelines and platform services integrating enterprise systems (Workday, Salesforce) for reporting and analytics.
• Develop scalable infrastructure and services using open-source tech, primarily on AWS, with some on GCP.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security checks.
• Collaborate across teams to identify platform gaps and improve developer experience and data reliability.
