Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Software Engineer at either the MTS or SMTS level to join the IT Employee Success and Finance Platform team. Qualifications

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience in observability, telemetry, logging, alerting, data pipelines, or data platforms.
• Familiarity with open-source technologies and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and security practices.
• Working knowledge of AWS (GCP a plus).
• Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and design principles.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work across teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate telemetry, observability, logging, and alerting systems for real-time visibility.
• Advance observability beyond dashboards toward proactive issue detection and root-cause analysis.
• Build and evolve data pipelines and platform services integrating Workday, Salesforce, and other enterprises.
• Enable reporting, analytics, and emerging AI use cases through reliable data.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scans, and quality gates.
• Create scalable infrastructure and services using open-source tech on AWS and occasionally GCP.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to improve developer experience and data reliability.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical planning.
