Job summary

Salesforce is hiring a Software Engineer at the MTS or SMTS level to join the IT Employee Success, Finance Platform, Data and Innovations team. You will design, build, and operate telemetry, observability, and data pipelines across Workday and Salesforce data sources, with a platform-first mindset.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to architecture, and drive platform capabilities on AWS with some GCP workloads, embracing open-source tools, CI/CD, security practices, and scalable services.

Qualifications

• Professional software development experience building and operating production systems.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience with observability, telemetry, logging, and data pipelines.
• Familiarity with open-source technologies and modern software practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and basic security practices.
• Cloud knowledge, especially AWS; some GCP experience is a plus.
• Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and reliability.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate telemetry, observability, logging, and alerting systems.
• Advance observability beyond dashboards toward AI- and agent-assisted analysis.
• Build data pipelines and platform services integrating enterprise data.
• Enable analytics and AI use cases with secure, governed data.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security checks.
• Develop infrastructure using open-source tech on AWS with some GCP workloads.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to improve developer experience and reliability.
• Participate in architecture discussions, reviews, and technical planning.
• Promote engineering best practices and reusable patterns.
