Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Software Engineer at the MTS or SMTS level to join the IT Employee Success, Finance Platform, Data and Innovations team. The role emphasizes building scalable platform capabilities and evolving observability with AI-enhanced operations across enterprise systems.

You'll design data pipelines and services that integrate Workday, Salesforce, and other systems, while mentoring others and shaping long-term architecture on AWS (with some GCP).

Qualifications

• Professional software development experience building and operating production systems.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience with observability, telemetry, logging, alerting, data pipelines, or data platforms.
• Familiarity with open-source technologies and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and basic security practices.
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS; some GCP experience is a plus.
• Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and system-design principles.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate telemetry, observability, logging, and alerting systems providing real-time visibility into health and performance.
• Advance observability toward proactive AI- and agent-assisted issue detection and root-cause analysis.
• Build data pipelines and platform services integrating Workday, Salesforce, and other enterprise systems.
• Enable operational analytics and AI use cases with reliable, governed data.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security scanning.
• Use AWS primarily, with some workloads on GCP; build scalable, maintainable infrastructure.
• Collaborate across teams to improve developer experience, data reliability, and operational intelligence.
• Participate in architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical planning.
• Apply engineering best practices for code quality, testing, security, and reliability.
• Contribute to reusable technical patterns and platform documentation.
