Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in Ashburn, VA is seeking a data center technician to help build and operate the scale-out infrastructure in a 24/7 environment. You will install and configure servers, manage cabling, and collaborate with internal teams to hand off to provisioning.

The role requires 3+ years IT experience, knowledge of server and network hardware, strong communication, and a willingness to work 10-hour shifts over four days, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working in an IT environment.
• Experience with server/storage/network hardware.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work 10-hour shifts across four days.
• Experience taking on-call shifts and responding to incidents.
• Inventory management experience including ordering and shipping parts.
• Familiarity with structured cabling and fiber/copper cabling.
• Knowledge of trunk infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure enterprise servers and cabling.
• Perform hardware break/fix replacement of FRUs.
• Rack installation, cabling, power-up, and handoff to provisioning teams.
• Troubleshoot Telco connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot and replace network switch equipment.
• Document activities and update SOPs.
• Manage small projects and coordinate with managers for larger ones.
