Job summary

Oracle in Ashburn, VA seeks a Data Center Technician to manage server/storage/hardware components, monitor operations, and mentor technicians. You will align with SOPs and MOPs for Data Center Change Control, acting as a liaison across technical and non-technical teams to resolve resiliency and availability risks.

The role requires shift rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays, with travel as needed. Strong Linux knowledge and ticketing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb stairs/ladder.
• Able to work 10-12 hour shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for others to work with servers and hardware to ensure lifecycle performance.
• Coach less experienced technicians on best practices for hardware rework and replacement.
• Instruct on network configurations and signing off on client configurations.
• Validate cabling and connectivity; ensure devices are connected and error-free.
• Monitor ticketing environment and mentor peers to resolve issues within SLAs.
• Ensure SOPs/MOPs are followed and site/vendor rules are respected.
• Coordinate cross-team collaboration to test and validate installations and site utilities.
• Provide SME guidance to identify resiliency, reliability, and availability risks.
• Lead and document improvements to processes and workflows.
