Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer focused on the Data Center market. You will lead the Building Mechanical team on projects, perform field investigations, interface with clients and vendors, size and select equipment, and prepare construction design packages.

You’ll manage schedule and technical quality, develop design basis, produce calculations and P&IDs, layout ductwork, and mentor junior staff as you collaborate across disciplines in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years’ experience in the design of HVAC systems.
• Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to the design of HVAC systems.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Adaptability to work within a fast‑paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to lead a building mechanical team on a project and collaborate with other discipline team members remotely.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design of HVAC systems for various clients, including EVs, data centers, and heavy industrial facilities.
• Development of the design criteria for the HVAC systems including comfort, temperature/humidity control, and clean room requirements.
• Development of conceptual and preliminary design documents with calculations and P&ID drawings.
• Layout of ductwork systems based on P&IDs and process diagrams.
• Development of final design documents including specifications, sequences of operation, piping layouts and construction drawings.
• Mentoring of less experienced staff.
• Collaborate with multi‑discipline teams to ensure schedule and quality of engineering tasks.
