Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer to focus on the Data Center market and lead our Building Mechanical team. You will perform field investigations, interface with clients and vendors, size and select equipment, and prepare construction design packages.

You will be accountable for schedule and technical quality on challenging engineering tasks as you gain familiarity with client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years’ experience in HVAC design.
• Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to HVAC design.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to lead a building mechanical team on a project and to collaborate with other discipline team members remotely.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design HVAC systems for diverse clients including data centers and heavy industrial facilities.
• Development of design criteria for HVAC systems including thermal comfort and humidity control requirements.
• Development of conceptual and preliminary design documents with calculations, P&IDs, and general arrangements.
• Layout of ductwork systems based on P&ID.
• Development of final design documents including specifications, sequences of operation, piping layout and construction documents for systems like chilled water, cooling water.
• Mentoring of less experienced staff.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and maintain schedule and technical quality.
