Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a high-energy Senior HVAC Engineer to focus on our Data Center market. You will lead the Building Mechanical team on projects, perform field investigations, interface with clients and vendors, size and select equipment, and prepare construction design packages.

You’ll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of complex tasks as you learn client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years’ experience in the design of HVAC systems.
• Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to HVAC design.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to lead a building mechanical team on a project and collaborate with other discipline team members remotely.
• Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design of HVAC systems for data centers and other facilities.
• Development of design criteria for HVAC systems.
• Development of conceptual and preliminary design documents including calculations and P&IDs.
• Layout of ductwork based on P&ID.
• Development of final design documents including specifications and construction drawings.
• Mentoring of less experienced staff.
