Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical HVAC Engineer to support our Data Center market. You will design and size HVAC systems, prepare P&IDs, and develop final construction drawings while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Your role includes ensuring schedule integrity and technical quality for complex projects.

The position offers hybrid work with opportunities to collaborate at Jacobs offices or project sites across the U.S. A PE license or ability to obtain within six months is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of HVAC system design experience.
• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Thorough knowledge of HVAC codes and standards.
• BS in Engineering, Mechanical preferred.
• Fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment.
• Ability to lead a building mechanical team and collaborate remotely.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design HVAC systems for diverse clients including data centers and heavy industrial facilities.
• Develop design criteria and calculations for sizing and selection of equipment.
• Create conceptual/preliminary design docs, P&IDs, and general arrangements.
• Layout ductwork based on P&ID and finalize design documents (specifications, sequences, piping, construction drawings).
• Coordinate with other disciplines and manage multi-discipline interfaces.
