Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical HVAC Engineer to focus on the Data Center market, delivering HVAC design solutions for data center clients. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team, perform field investigations, size and select equipment, and prepare construction design packages.

Requirements include 8+ years in HVAC design, PE license or ability to obtain in 6 months, and proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, and Trane Trace. Jacobs offers hybrid work and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• 8 or more years’ experience in the design of HVAC systems.
• Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain in 6 months.
• Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to the design of HVAC systems.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering required, Mechanical preferred.
• Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to follow lead a building mechanical team on a project and to collaborate with other discipline team members remotely.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design of HVAC systems for various types of clients, including electric vehicles, data centers, and heavy industrial facilities.
• Development of the design criteria for the HVAC systems.
• Development of conceptual design and preliminary design documents, including calculations for sizing and selecting these systems, P&IDs, and general arrangements.
• Layout of Ductwork systems based on a P&ID.
• Development of final design documents including specification, sequences of operation, piping layout, and final construction documents.
• Coordination with other disciplines.
• Bring curiosity, multi-tasking, and collaboration to help growth and success.
