Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking an experienced infrastructure architect to design and deliver complex data center and cloud infrastructure. You will plan networks, compute, telephony, platforms, and databases, while owning capacity planning to meet SLAs.

Your role includes setting performance standards, advising on emerging technologies, and partnering with vendors to optimize licensing and budgeting for datacenter tech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, architect, and deliver complex infrastructure designs for networks, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and databases.
• Own capacity planning to ensure infrastructure capabilities meet SLAs.
• Define hardware and software performance standards for scalability and resilience.
• Serve as an infrastructure subject matter expert, guiding emerging technologies and vendor partnerships.
• Lead licensing, budgeting, and capacity initiatives for datacenter technologies.
• Consult with IT partners and stakeholders on infrastructure decisions.
• Execute detailed designs for large-scale initiatives with IT stakeholders and delivery partners.
• Ensure operational readiness through planning, coordination, updates, and incident resolution.
