Job summary

Blue Cross NC seeks an experienced Infrastructure Architect to engineer complex data center infrastructures across physical and cloud-hosted environments. You will analyze requirements, design scalable solutions, and partner with service vendors to ensure reliable, cost-effective performance.

Responsibilities include leading architecture for network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and databases, while guiding licensing, capacity planning, and performance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, architect, and deliver complex infrastructure designs supporting network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and database solutions.
• Own technology currency, lifecycle management, and capacity planning to meet SLAs.
• Define and maintain hardware and software performance standards for scalability and resilience.
• Provide technical guidance on emerging technologies and vendors.
• Lead licensing, financial planning, and capacity initiatives for datacenter tech.
• Consult with IT partners, stakeholders, and vendors on infra decisions.
• Execute detailed designs for large-scale initiatives with IT stakeholders.
• Ensure operational readiness through planning, coordination, and execution of performance tuning and upgrades.
• Mentor engineers with technical direction and knowledge sharing.
• Build partnerships to maintain roadmaps and standards.
• Collaborate with vendors to align solutions with architecture.
