Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to design and optimize complex data center and cloud infrastructure. The role involves planning, architecture, and collaboration across network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and database solutions to meet business needs.

Responsibilities include lifecycle management, capacity planning, and setting performance standards for scalability and resilience, with guidance to vendors and IT partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data center infrastructure or similar field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, architect, and deliver complex infrastructure designs across network, compute, telephony, and databases.
• Own lifecycle management and capacity planning to meet SLAs.
• Define hardware/software performance standards for scalability and resilience.
• Provide deep technical guidance and partner with vendors.
• Lead licensing, financial planning, and capacity initiatives for data center tech.
• Consult with IT partners and stakeholders to resolve design problems.
• Ensure operational readiness via planning, coordination, and upgrades.
