Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to design and deliver complex data center, cloud, and telephony infrastructure. You will own lifecycle management, capacity planning, and performance standards while collaborating with IT partners and vendors to ensure scalable solutions across hybrid environments.

The role requires 5+ years in a related field with a Bachelor's degree or higher.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, architect, and deliver complex infrastructure designs for network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and database solutions.
• Own technology currency, lifecycle management, and capacity planning to meet SLAs.
• Define and maintain hardware/software performance standards for scalability and reliability.
• Provide expert guidance on emerging technologies and vendor partnerships.
• Lead licensing, financial planning, and capacity initiatives for data center technologies.
• Consult with IT partners and vendors on infrastructure decisions.
• Execute detailed designs for large-scale initiatives with stakeholders and delivery partners.
• Ensure readiness through planning, coordination, and execution of upgrades and incident response.
• Provide expert guidance during complex production incidents to support rapid resolution.
• Develop standardized engineering guidelines and roadmaps for efficient delivery.
