Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group seeks a Sr. Consultant Specialized Claims to lead the most complex, high-exposure claims nationwide. You will provide strategic oversight, expert consultation, and direction for litigation, settlements, and policy development.

You will collaborate with legal, underwriting, and external counsel, mentor junior adjusters, and drive advanced risk assessments while maintaining regulatory compliance and high standards of service.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 12+ years of management liability or complex claims experience.
• Expert-level knowledge of applicable statutes, regulations, and case law for high-complexity claims with significant financial risk.
• Strong negotiation and claims resolution skills; able to shape best practices.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage the company’s most complex, high-exposure claims.
• Collaborate with legal counsel and internal stakeholders to resolve high-profile cases and shape claims strategy.
• Retain, manage, and direct counsel; develop litigation strategies including discovery, trial, and resolution planning.
• Represent the company at trials, mediations, settlement conferences, and arbitrations.
• Lead quality and process improvement initiatives for complex claims handling.
