Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Litigation Claims Consultant to manage a portfolio of complex, high-exposure CGL claims, including litigated matters with significant financial exposure.

This full-time role can be remote or hybrid, and you will lead strategy, work with top counsel, and drive financial outcomes while protecting customers and the company's reputation.

You will mentor peers, ensure compliant files, and collaborate across teams to improve claim outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of casualty claims experience with an insurer, including complex, high-exposure CGL claims.
• Experience handling claims with exposure $250K–$1M+.
• Ability to lead litigation strategy and negotiate high-value settlements.
• Advanced knowledge of coverage interpretation and multi-jurisdictional legal frameworks.
• Strong financial acumen including reserving and expense management.
• Ability to make independent decisions with high authority on complex claims.
• Analytical reasoning and planning & execution skills.
• Proven Customer Centricity and Persuasion & Influence.
• Strong Digital Fluency and Professional Insurance Acumen.
• Active adjuster licenses or ability to obtain.

Responsabilités

• Independently manage a portfolio of complex, high-exposure CGL claims.
• Conduct investigations and timely coverage analysis.
• Interpret indemnity and hold harmless agreements and assess additional insured coverage.
• Evaluate liability and damages; maintain reserves throughout the claim lifecycle.
• Lead litigation strategy with defense counsel through all phases.
• Negotiate high-severity settlements and pursue risk transfer opportunities.
• Collaborate with partners to analyze trends and improve outcomes.
• Maintain compliant, well-documented claim files.
• Communicate clearly with insureds, brokers, and stakeholders.
• Serve as a mentor to develop capabilities across the claims organization.
