Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. seeks a Senior Litigation Claims Consultant to manage a portfolio of complex, high-exposure CGL claims, including litigated matters across multiple jurisdictions.

This full-time role can be fully remote or hybrid flex; you will own claims end-to-end, partner with top-tier legal counsel, drive claim strategy, financial outcomes and customer experience while mentoring colleagues, coordinating with defense counsel, and managing complex litigation through discovery,

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years in casualty claims with complex, high-severity and litigated CGL claims.
• Experience handling claims with significant exposure ($250K-$1M+).
• Ability to lead litigation strategy and negotiate high-value settlements.
• Advanced knowledge of coverage interpretation and multi-jurisdictional frameworks.
• Strong financial acumen including reserving and indemnity control.
• Ability to make independent decisions with high authority on complex claims.
• Analytical reasoning and planning & execution skills.
• Customer centricity and persuasion to align stakeholders.
• Strong digital fluency and professional insurance acumen.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; CPCU/AIC/SCLA or JD are a plus.
• Active adjuster licenses or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a portfolio of complex, high-exposure CGL claims across multiple jurisdictions.
• Conduct thorough investigations and timely coverage analysis to inform strategy.
• Interpret indemnity and hold harmless agreements; evaluate additional insured coverage.
• Evaluate liability and damages; maintain reserves throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead litigation strategy and direct defense counsel through discovery, mediation, arbitration and trial.
• Negotiate and resolve high-severity claims with cost-effective outcomes.
• Identify risk transfer and subrogation opportunities to mitigate loss.
• Collaborate with internal/external partners to analyze trends and improve outcomes.
• Maintain compliant, well-documented claim files; communicate with insureds and brokers.
