Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a German-speaking Customer Engineer to lead technical engagements with enterprise customers in Germany. You will bridge technical strategy with business value, guiding clients from pre-sales validation through onboarding, deployment, and expansion.

You will drive architectural design, risk management, and AI-enabled process improvements to accelerate customer value. You will collaborate with sales and enablement teams, travel up to 20–50% for customer meetings and events as

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Professional Services, Sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Forward Deployed Engineer.
• Architectural mindset for white-boarding, designing, and communicating complex enterprise networks and security architectures.
• Strong consultative/advisory skills to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Commercial mindset with experience in quota-carrying or revenue-aligned roles and understanding SaaS metrics.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical and executive audiences.
• Broad technical breadth across internet fundamentals, security, performance, AI, scripting, and developer platforms.
• Business fluency in German is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical deep-dive discovery with Account Executives and map customer infrastructure to Cloudflare architectures.
• Define success criteria and plans for PoCs and Technical Validations.
• Oversee onboarding, health, risk, and expansion strategy for customers.
• Act as trusted advisor throughout the customer lifecycle, from onboarding to renewal.
• Leverage AI agents and workflows to automate routine tasks and reclaim time for advisory work.
• Collaborate with Enablement to create SOPs, architectural guides, and best practices.
