Job summary

Newmark Group, Inc. seeks a Senior Real Estate Appraiser to lead complex valuations for commercial, industrial, multifamily, and specialty properties.

Deliver USPAP-compliant reports for mortgage underwriting, acquisitions, portfolio analysis, and financial reporting, coordinating with senior staff and clients. The role offers a base draw against commissions starting at $50,000, with commissions offset and potential equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in real estate or related subjects; MS or MBA in real estate preferred.
• Certified General Appraiser License (state) required.
• 3–6 years of professional experience as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser.
• Experience writing appraisal reports and reviews for complex properties.
• Knowledge of Argus is preferred.
• Strong analytical and writing skills; strong communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete appraisal reports independently on complex properties with QA/QC and senior staff oversight.
• Conduct market research and evaluate properties to establish market value.
• Develop income, sales comparison and cost approaches; perform analyses and defend conclusions to clients and lenders.
• Manage assignments, mentor junior staff, and support proposals and business development.
• Inspect properties and engage directly in client meetings; stay current with regulations and appraisal standards.
• Understand software programs used in the business and data sources.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
