Job summary

EDF Renewable Energy, Inc. seeks a Senior Counsel to lead negotiations and drafting for complex contracts, JV agreements, and project finance.

You will guide regulatory compliance, manage internal stakeholders, and mentor junior staff across North America in a renewable energy context. You will oversee due diligence for PPPs and energy projects, coordinate with external counsel, and shape legal strategy for acquisition, development, and operation of wind, solar, and storage assets.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited US law school or equivalent.
• Active bar license in at least one North American jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of legal experience in corporate transactions, M&A, and renewables.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations and drafting of complex contracts and ancillary documents.
• Oversee due diligence for transactions including project debt and equity financing.
• Provide strategic legal input on regulatory strategy and compliance.
• Develop training programs for North America employees on policy topics.
• Mentor junior or external counsel and manage outside counsel when needed.
• Support broader corporate, transactional, and regulatory matters across renewable projects.
