Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment in San Mateo, CA is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel, IP Enforcement to join its Game Protection and Studio Support teams. You will serve as the Americas’ primary legal contact for IP enforcement, focusing on piracy prevention, pre-release content protection, and enforcing copyright across digital and offline channels.

Qualifications

6–10 years of post-qualified experience in intellectual property enforcement, gained in-house and/or in private practice.
Strong knowledge of U.S. copyright law and the DMCA, including notice and takedown procedures.

Responsibilities

Lead legal counsel for IP enforcement in the Americas for SIE’s Game Protection Program.
Collaborate with PlayStation Studios, production, security, and release teams to identify protection risks.
Provide guidance on DMCA processes, safe harbors, and counter-notices.
Advise on copyright and content-protection issues including game mods, circumvention, and related threats.
Work with investigators and external partners to translate technical information into enforcement actions.
Support IP enforcement needs of hardware and merchandise businesses in the Americas.
