Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel, Intellectual Property Litigation in San Mateo. You will lead IP litigation efforts, manage outside counsel, and mentor junior team members in a hybrid role with 2 days in office.

You will work on patents, trademarks, and copyrights for PlayStation products, partnering with regional teams to shape strategy and mitigate risk in a fast-evolving legal landscape.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active U.S. state bar in good standing; California Bar preferred.
• 12+ years of IP litigation experience; 4+ years at a law firm.
• Experience in complex patent litigation and IP disputes.
• Ability to advise business leaders on dispute resolution and risk mitigation.
• Strong communicator with integrity and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Manage IP litigation strategy with outside counsel and budgets.
• Respond to subpoenas and information requests as needed.
• Advise leadership on IP litigation risks and pre-litigation matters.
• Help develop policies, playbooks, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with regional teams on international disputes and strategy.
• Mentor attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
