Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Senior Event Manager to plan and deliver multiday executive programs for an enterprise client, with budgets above $1 million and audiences of 500+ attendees. You will partner with a producer to own the plan, budget, and supplier management, while coaching a team of Event Managers.

The role requires extensive experience in corporate meetings, strong Cvent skills, and the ability to manage multiple programs across the calendar with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives.
• Budget management for programs over $1 million.
• Experience directing onsite teams of ten or more.
• Planning lead beside a producer, with clear decision ownership.
• Strong hotel and supplier contract skills: attrition, cancellation, F&B minimums, and enforcement.
• Proficiency in Cvent and enterprise project tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff to onsite execution for 500+ attendees.
• Lead planning beside the producer and flag cost/time impacts early.
• Build and manage program budgets from estimates to reconciliation.
• Create and maintain the detailed planning calendar and timelines.
• Manage hotels, venues, transportation, F&B, and destination partners.
• Coordinate attendee registrations and housing in Cvent.
• Run onsite logistics with teams of ten or more.
• Mentor junior Event Managers and provide coaching.
• Keep planning files complete for handoff to another manager.
• Raise scope/budget risks with recommendations.
