Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Senior Event Manager to plan and deliver highly complex multiday programs for a dedicated Experience Studio team serving a top enterprise client. You will co-lead with a producer, own budgets, and manage suppliers from contract terms to final invoices.

The role requires experience with large-scale events, onsite leadership of teams, and strong knowledge of Cvent and enterprise tools.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives with full responsibility from kickoff to reconciliation.
• Experience managing programs with budgets above $1 million and accurate forecasts.
• Portfolio includes multiday executive programs and large audiences; onsite leadership experience.
• Experience leading planning beside a producer or senior client event owner with clear decision ownership.
• Strong hotel and supplier contract skills including attrition, cancellation, and F&B minimums.
• Proficiency with enterprise project tools and client-owned environments such as Cvent.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex programs from kickoff through onsite execution for an enterprise client.
• Lead planning with the producer and translate briefs into actionable plans and budgets.
• Build and manage program budgets from initial estimate to final reconciliation; forecast and track changes.
• Create detailed planning calendars and ensure all dates are met by team and suppliers.
• Oversee day-to-day supplier management from contracts to final invoices within client rules.
• Coordinate registration, housing, and attendee communications in the client system.
• Run onsite logistics, staffing, room setups, F&B, transport, and VIP movements.
• Mentor and develop Event Managers, review plans and budgets, and step in at peak periods.
• Maintain complete planning files and notes to enable seamless handover.
• Raise scope, budget, and resourcing risks with recommendations to leadership.
