Job summary

Lob seeks a Corporate Counsel to serve as a trusted advisor to Revenue, Product, Engineering, and Partner Operations. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating complex agreements, shaping data privacy practices, and building scalable legal processes to accelerate business execution.

The attorney should bring 5–7+ years of in-house or equivalent experience, strong SaaS knowledge, and a proactive, business-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong preference for in-house experience.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active state bar membership.
• Experience with the range of legal risks and business issues in an enterprise SaaS environment.
• Ability to manage a high volume of work autonomously and translate complex legal concepts into business advice.
• Hand-on experience advising People/HR on employment lifecycle matters and managing litigation alongside outside counsel.
• Experience supporting supply chain operations and equity programs (Carta).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, including enterprise SaaS, partnerships, and vendor contracts.
• Advise Product and Engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle, navigating regulatory, IP, and contractual frameworks.
• Contribute to data privacy strategy, perform impact assessments, and negotiate data processing agreements.
• Oversee corporate compliance programs, establish internal policies, and run vendor audits.
• Develop scalable legal workflows and self-service templates to accelerate execution.
• Collaborate with the General Counsel on special projects and broader strategic initiatives.
