Job summary

Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Inc. (HIMSS) is seeking a seasoned accounting leader to direct the organization’s accounting operations, ensuring a complete and timely close and compliant financial reporting.

You will manage external audits, tax filings, and maintain robust internal controls across global entities. The role requires a CPA and a minimum of ten years in accounting, with experience supervising remote teams and international operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MS or MBA preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• A minimum of ten (10) years (full-time) experience in industry or public accounting, including experience managing remote teams and with international operations.
• Exceptional accounting and analytical skills; proven ability to mentor and develop accounting professionals.
• Experience using technology to meet financial close goals; adherence to regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations and ensure a complete, accurate, and timely financial close.
• Direct external audits and tax filings planning and execution.
• Manage accounts receivable aging, billings, cash applications, and merchant accounting.
• Oversee accounts payable, purchase orders, payroll and payroll tax compliance.
• Ensure GAAP compliance for currency translation and foreign tax liability; enforce internal controls.
• Lead system enhancements and implementations (NetSuite, Concur, ADP) with consultants.
