Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MS or MBA preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• A minimum of ten (10) years (full-time) experience in industry or public accounting, including experience managing remote teams and with international operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of the Accounting Department related to the planning, execution, and accurate and timely completion of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes; deliver reconciled information for internal and external statements.
• Develop and enforce the financial policies required to safeguard the assets of the organization.
• Oversee accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, and merchant accounting, with oversight through the Assistant Controller.
• Oversee disbursements: accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, expense reports, cash control, payroll, and payroll tax compliance, with oversight through the Assistant Controller.
• Oversee accounting activities of HIMSS international offices and entities with GAAP currency translation and foreign tax (VAT) compliance.
• Establish and maintain systems and controls to verify the integrity of financial systems, processes and data.
• Lead financial system enhancements and implementations; coordinate with NetSuite, Concur, ADP and consultants to develop project plans.
• Direct timely delivery of audit work papers and reconciliations; provide quality assurance review of interim financial information.
• Provide leadership to CFO/CEO on accounting policies, financial reporting, and GAAP.
• Improve the quality and transparency of accounting records and supporting schedules.
