Job summary

Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Inc. (HIMSS) seeks an experienced accounting leader to direct the organization’s accounting operations and financial close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

You will implement policies, internal controls, and collaborate with external auditors on yearly audits and tax filings. The role covers AR/AP, payroll, currency translation for international operations, and system improvements (NetSuite/Concur/ADP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MS or MBA preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of full-time accounting experience.
• Experience managing remote teams and international operations.
• Proven ability to mentor accounting professionals and improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations and financial close with accurate reporting.
• Direct AR/AP, payroll, and tax compliance.
• Oversee audits, tax filings, and external auditors.
• Develop policies to safeguard assets and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff; interact with CFO/CEO.
