Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Inc. (HIMSS) seeks an experienced accounting executive to lead the organization’s accounting operations and ensure a complete, accurate, and timely financial close.

You will establish policies, maintain internal controls, and coordinate external audits and tax filings while guiding a team that includes remote personnel. You will manage AR, AP, payroll, currency translation, and international operations, while driving system enhancements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• MS or MBA preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• A minimum of ten years (full-time) experience in industry or public accounting.
• Experience managing remote teams and with international operations.
• Exceptional accounting and analytical skills.
• Experience utilizing technology to meet financial close goals.
• Flexible working arrangements; hybrid work possible.

Responsabilités

• Direct the accounting close processes for monthly, quarterly, and annual periods.
• Manage accounts receivable, including billing and cash application; oversee merchant accounting.
• Oversee accounts payable, purchases, petty cash, payroll, and payroll tax compliance.
• Lead accounting for international offices and ensure GAAP compliance and currency translation.
• Drive financial system enhancements and work with consultants to implement them.
• Coordinate and deliver audit work papers and reconciliations; support tax filings.
• Provide leadership to executive management on accounting policy and financial reporting.
